Reference video
Starting position
Standing on both feet, feet together or hip-width apart, rope behind.
Correct technique
The rope passes under the feet exactly three times per jump. Landing on both feet.
Required range of motion
Three full rope turns during a single jump.
What counts
A repetition counts with three full turns in one jump and a landing on both feet.
What does not count
Not counted: double or single jumps, landing on one foot, a tangled rope, and jumps after the end signal.
Filming requirements
The athlete stays fully visible from head to feet for the whole attempt. One continuous take, no cuts or editing. The camera does not move. A timer must be visible in frame, or the start and end signals audible.
Common mistakes
A double instead of a triple
The rope only passes twice, so the jump is not counted.
